Job summary

Bedford Care Centers seeks a Dietary Assistant to support all dietary operations, including food preparation, cooking, serving meals, and cleaning the kitchen and dishwashing areas. Some experience in large-scale cooking is preferred; on-the-job training is provided.

Must read and write at a level sufficient for duties and must pass a drug screen with a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check. Duties include assisting with meal preparation and service, cleaning and sanitizing work areas,

Qualifications

• Some experience in large-scale cooking services is preferred.
• Must be able to read and write at a level necessary to accomplish job duties.
• Must be able to pass drug screen and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check

Responsibilities

• Assists with checking in groceries, other supplies, storing food, other duties as instructed
• Assists in the preparation, set ups and serving meals, snacks, drinks and loading food carts
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, floors, dishes, utensils, dishwashing area and any other areas in the Dietary Department or Dining Rooms as needed
• Assists in checking food trays for menu and diet accuracy and for Resident's preferences
• Assists with proper storage of foods and supplies and communication regarding food and supplies availability
• Assists with cooking, operating dishwasher or other duties as requested and/or assigned
• Delivers food carts to Nursing Stations for service of meals
