Job summary

Bedford Care Center is seeking a cook responsible for preparing meals in accordance with Diet Orders, menu specifications, and state and federal laws, under supervision of the Dietary Supervisor and Manager.

You will receive grocery orders, assist with maintaining inventory and ensure high standards of quality in food preparation and service while communicating courteously with Employees, Residents and others; maintain hygiene.

Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale cooking services preferred.
• Must be in good physical condition and able to read, write and follow instructions.
• Must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Immediately ensures any liquids on floor are cleaned; reports other Safety Hazards to Maintenance Supervisor
• If requested, serves on Safety Committee and participates in Safety Meetings and Safety Audits
• Complies with Infection Control Policies; reports contact with infectious disease to Infection Control Nurse
• Assists with food orders, receiving and checking in supplies, storing food and maintaining inventory

Job Summary:

Responsible for overall preparation of meals compliant with Diet Orders, menu specifications, Company Policies, State and Federal Laws, Dietary/Sanitary Regulations under supervision of Dietary Supervisor and Manager; receives incoming grocery orders and supplies; assists with maintaining adequate inventory and accurate inventory records; maintains high standards of quality in food preparation and service; must communicate courteously, respectfully with Employees, Residents and others; must maintain high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene
