Job summary

LionStone Care is hiring a part-time Dietary Aide at Ohio Valley Manor Care Community in Ripley, OH.

You will assist in meal preparation and service, follow dietary guidelines, maintain sanitation, and support residents with meal-related needs. On-site role with opportunities to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in food service or a healthcare setting preferred but not required. On-the-job training provided.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, good communication, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, basic understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines, including special diets such as diabetic, low-sodium, or gluten-free.
• Ensure food is served attractively and timely, following portion control and resident preferences.
• Prepare food trays, deliver meals to residents or patients, and assist with food delivery to common areas or individual rooms as needed.
• Follow dietary instructions for residents or patients with specific medical needs, ensuring meals meet nutritional requirements.
• Ensure proper portion sizes and follow meal plans to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, cleaning tables, and sanitizing equipment.
• Follow all food safety regulations and facility policies to ensure a clean and safe environment for food preparation and service.
• Ensure that kitchen and dining areas meet local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
• Assist in maintaining and restocking food supplies, condiments, and utensils as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify the dietary supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, patients, and families, responding to questions and special requests promptly and courteously.
• Help residents and patients with meal-related needs, such as serving beverages, providing additional utensils, or addressing dietary concerns.
• Work closely with cooks, dietary supervisors, and other kitchen staff to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of meal service.
• Assist with kitchen duties, including food preparation and setup for meals.

Description: The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals to residents or patients in a healthcare or long-term care facility. This role supports the dietary team by ensuring that food is served according to dietary requirements and guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe dining environment, and providing excellent customer service to residents and patients. The Dietary Aide plays an essential role in promoting health and well-being through nutritious meals.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Preparation and Service

• Assist in preparing and serving meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines, including special diets such as diabetic, low-sodium, or gluten-free.
• Ensure that food is served in an attractive and timely manner, following portion control and resident preferences.
