Job summary

Messiah Lifeways in Mechanicsburg, PA is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to help create welcoming dining experiences for residents. You will assist with meal service, basic food preparation, and ensuring meals meet dietary guidelines, all while contributing to a caring team.

You will support dining operations, keep areas clean, and provide excellent service in a fast-paced setting. Training is provided; prior food service experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old (work permit required if under 18).
• Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable attendance and a positive attitude.
• Dietary Aide or food service experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serving meals with friendliness, respect, and care.
• Assisting with food preparation, portioning, and meal setup.
• Supporting residents by ensuring they receive the correct meals according to dietary guidelines.
• Keeping dining areas clean, organized, and inviting; washing dishes, restocking supplies, and assisting with kitchen tasks.
• Following food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
• Providing excellent customer service while working alongside a supportive Dining Services team.

Job description

Shift: 10:30am - 7:00pm

Status: Part Time - Tuesdays & Thursdays + every other weekend and every other holiday

What You’ll Do

As a Dietary Aide, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for our residents. Your responsibilities may include:

• Serving meals with friendliness, respect, and care
• Assisting with food preparation, portioning, and meal setup
• Supporting residents by ensuring they receive the correct meals according to dietary guidelines
• Keeping dining areas clean, organized, and invitingWashing dishes, restocking supplies, and assisting with kitchen tasks
• Following food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
• Providing excellent customer service while working alongside a supportive Dining Services team

Schedule

We are looking for a full-time Dietary Aide to support daily operations from 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM. Hours and shifts available may vary based on department needs, but every other weekend and holiday is required for all Dietary team members.
