Position Overview: Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide performs food service functions, maintains cleanliness of food service areas, assists in food preparation, and plates food according to dietary guidelines for both regular and special diets. Required Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent, or technical school
• Ability to work independently and manage meal service for 20 residents
• Some food service experience required
• Excellent communication skills

Primary Responsibilities

• Handle, transport, and plate food for residents, guests, and staff
• Plate food per planned menu and recipes, following portion and garnishing guidelines
• Assist kitchen staff and perform other duties as assigned
• Ensure sufficient food prep, communicate shortages, and maintain food quality and temperature
• Maintain logs, stock supplies, and ensure sanitation standards
• Operate equipment safely, report discrepancies, and deliver food carts
• Set up service lines, clean and sanitize dishes, monitor cleaning supplies, and maintain cleanliness
• Inventory supplies, prepare snacks, and report equipment issues
• Support a positive team environment and promote resident dignity and privacy

Working Conditions

This role requires standing for long periods, effective communication, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. It involves frequent bending, reaching, and interaction with others in a moderate noise environment. Occasional travel may be required.
