Job summary

The Bluefields is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents in our care. You will assist with meal service, follow dietary plans, and support a clean, safe dining environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation, portioning, and serving to residents per dietary plans.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
• Provide meal assistance and support to residents to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Follow food safety protocols for storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Assist with inventory and reporting shortages to the Dietary Manager.
• Collaborate with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Fulfill residents' dietary requests and preferences during meals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents' individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required)
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
