The Landings of Smithfield is seeking a dedicated Diet ary Aide to join our culinary team to provide nutritious, high-quality meals for residents. The role emphasizes meal preparation, serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience in a compassionate elder-care environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required).
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: prepare, portion, and serve meals per dietary plans and requests.
• Sanitation & cleanliness: maintain kitchen/dining area cleanliness; wash dishes and equipment as needed.
• Resident support: assist with meal setup, serving, and positive dining experience.
• Food safety: follow all food safety protocols and proper storage/handling.
• Inventory support: help receive/store food, check inventory, and notify shortages.
• Team collaboration: work with dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen/dining operations.
• Resident engagement: fulfill special dietary requests and residents' preferences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
