Job summary

Somerset Court at University Place in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking an enthusiastic Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. This role emphasizes compassion, teamwork, and a patient-centered approach in a senior living setting.

You will assist with meal preparation and serving, follow dietary plans, uphold food safety standards, keep the kitchen and dining areas clean, and support residents to enjoy their dining experience each day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food service preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to follow directions and work in a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
