Job summary

Rose Tara Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our culinary team, helping provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents per dietary plans and preferences.

In this role you will assist with meal service, maintain kitchen cleanliness, follow food safety standards, support inventory, and collaborate with the dietary team to ensure a positive dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans.

• Resident support: assist with meal setup and serving to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Food safety: follow all safety protocols for proper storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory support: assist in receiving, storing, and notifying shortages to the Dietary Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required)
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
