Job summary

Willow Ridge Memory Care is seeking an enthusiastic Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and assist in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will contribute to a compassionate dining experience in a supportive community.

Key duties include meal preparation and service, sanitation and cleanliness, food safety compliance, inventory support, and collaboration with the dietary team to meet residents' dietary needs and preferences, while delivering warmth and respectful service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous food service experience (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans
• Sanitation & cleanliness: maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment
• Resident support: provide meal assistance and ensure a positive dining experience
• Food safety: follow protocols for storage, handling, and sanitation
• Inventory support: assist in receiving and storing food, notify shortages or needs
• Team collaboration: work with the dietary team to run kitchen and dining areas
• Resident engagement: fulfill special dietary requests and individual preferences during meals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
