Job summary

Willow Ridge Memory Care is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and assist in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will help prepare, portion, and serve meals according to dietary plans, while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and dining areas.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent), strong food safety knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous experience in a food service role is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain kitchen and dining area cleanliness and organization; wash dishes and equipment.
• Resident Support: Provide meal setup, serving, and a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food; notify shortages to the Dietary Manager.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to keep kitchen and dining areas running smoothly.
• Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect residents' preferences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
