Job summary

Vancrest of Urbana, Inc. is seeking a Dietary Aide to support our dining and nutrition services for residents. Wages begin at $12 per hour and can increase with experience, as determined by the hiring manager.

The role involves reviewing menus, ensuring correct special diets, coordinating with Dieticians and Nursing staff, and helping with daily food service operations. Vancrest offers health, dental, vision, disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, PTO, and tuition assistance.

• Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct.
• Coordinating dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Working with the facility-like Dietician and Dietetic Technician as necessary.

• Assuring that dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assisting in establishing food service production line to assure meals are prepared on time.
• Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures and ensuring utensils are available for next meal.
• Assisting in inventorying and storing incoming food and supplies.

• Working with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors as necessary and implementing recommended changes as required.
• Assuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assisting in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
• Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
• Assisting in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc., as necessary.
