Job summary

Polaris Healthcare in Troy, NY is seeking a part-time kitchen aide to support daily meal preparation and service for residents.

You will work under the Cook or Food Service Director, following daily menus, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, and helping with events and cleanup.

Qualifications

• Weekends and holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods assigned by the Cook or Food Service Director, using daily menus.
• Assist in preparing foods for special events.
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment.
• Store food properly for infection control.
• Participate in serving food.
• Clean tables during and after meals.
• Reset tables for the next meal.
• Prepare beverages before meals.
• Clean equipment, appliances, floors, drains, storage area.
• Refrigerator, freezer and sinks according to schedule.
• Sweep clean and mop kitchen after each meal.
• Stack, soak and run dish machine.
• Soak and clean pots and pans.
• Put away clean dishes, pots and pans.
• Work with resident volunteers in the dining room.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by Management Team
