Job summary

Vivo Healthcare in Florida is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to assist in the preparation, service, and cleanup of meals for residents, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment for residents, guests, and staff.

You will work under the Cook or Dietary Manager, follow prescribed meal plans and dietary restrictions, and maintain good communication with residents and team members to support resident well‑being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs, stand and walk for long periods.
• Compassionate and respectful demeanor when interacting with elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction of the Cook or Dietary Manager.
• Serve meals to residents in dining areas and deliver trays to rooms.
• Set up meal trays, dining room tables, and food carts.
• Clean dishes, utensils, equipment, and kitchen surfaces.
• Follow prescribed meal plans and dietary restrictions for each resident.
• Ensure food is served at the proper temperature and in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations.
• Remove trash and dispose of food waste properly.
• Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Maintain positive and respectful communication with residents and team members.
• Report any changes in residents' appetite or dietary needs to the supervisor.
