Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service and kitchen operations. The role requires learning the routine quickly, setting up meal trays, assisting with serving, operating the dishwasher, and helping maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and obtain a food handlers’ certificate. Ability to read recipes and follow procedures is essential, with basic math skills for measurements and portions.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handlers’ certificate.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
