Job summary

Republic Services in Michigan is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, brakes, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. Under supervision, you will diagnose issues on-site and on the road.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle components and repair.
• Experience or formal training in automotive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies and hydraulic/electrical systems; air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance; suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning; welding and fabrication.

Skills

ASE Certifications

Valid Driver’s License

Education

Accredited automotive college or technical school (within 3 months)
