Job summary
Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B in Michigan to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, HVAC, suspension, and drive train components. This role involves both on-site work and on-the-road service to keep our fleet operating smoothly.
You will perform preventive maintenance, basic tire work, and welding while receiving training on new technologies.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years in a technician role or graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel-powered equipment.
- ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
- Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair vehicle components and systems on-site and on the road.
- Chassis component repair and maintenance.
- Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
- Light engine repair and maintenance.
- Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
- Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication.
- Safely provides road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation.
