Southern Tire Mart in Texas is seeking a diesel mechanic to diagnose and repair mechanical systems on semi-trucks and trailers, including brakes, HVAC, drivetrains, electrical systems, and PM inspections. You will also conduct fleet inspections, perform scheduled maintenance, operate diagnostic tools, and support tire services as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification is a plus.
• Prior experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet technician, or heavy truck mechanic preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
• Must be able to lift/move tires and equipment (30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids).
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to work in varying conditions (weather, noise, physical demands).
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Overtime maybe required.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose and repair mechanical systems on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Brakes, HVAC systems, drivetrains, electrical systems, PM inspections.
• Conduct fleet inspections and perform scheduled maintenance.
• Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues.
• Perform tire-related services such as mounting, balancing, and repairing.
• Use and maintain TPMS.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, company policies, and DOT regulations.
• Respond to roadside service calls with company service truck.
• Assist with parts inventory and shop organization.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
