Job summary

CSM Kenworth in Ashland, Ohio is hiring diesel truck technicians at both entry and experienced levels to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain Class 8 trucks.

You will diagnose electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension systems, document repairs, and coordinate with parts and shop staff.

The role requires a CDL, strong communication, and the ability to work 8–10 hour shifts with overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; technical degree or certificate preferred.
• 3–5 years diesel mechanic experience for experienced technicians.
• Valid CDL required.
• Ability to read repair orders, schematics, and bulletins.
• Basic computer and Windows proficiency.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• 8–10 hour shifts with overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on medium and heavy duty vehicles.
• Troubleshoot electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension systems.
• Write accurate, clear, and detailed repair descriptions on repair orders.
• Use diagnostic equipment to detect and isolate faults in vehicles.
• Coordinate with parts department to obtain necessary parts.
• Test drive customer vehicles to verify repairs.
• Record hours on repair orders.
• Interact professionally with customers.
• Assist other technicians with repairs as needed.
