Job summary

CSM Kenworth in Cleveland is seeking entry level and experienced diesel truck mechanics to perform maintenance and repair on Class 8 trucks. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical, drivetrain, HVAC, brakes, and other systems; reading and detailing repair orders; and communicating with the shop team.

CDL eligibility and a strong mechanical aptitude are preferred. Excellent benefits are offered as part of a progressive dealer group.

Qualifications

High school diploma required; technical degree/certificate preferred.
3–5 years of diesel mechanic experience for senior/crafted roles.

Responsibilities

Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy duty vehicles.
Troubleshoots systems including electrical, drive train, HVAC, brakes, engine and suspension.
Writes up detailed repair descriptions on Repair Orders with cause and repair procedures.
Uses diagnostic equipment to detect and isolate faults in heavy duty vehicles.
Reads fault descriptions on Repair Orders and determines efficient repair procedures.
Communicates with Shop Foreman and parts department for repairs.
Performs road tests to verify repairs and aid in problem isolation.
Tracks and records hours on Repair Orders.
Interacts with customers professionally and assists other technicians.
