Job summary

CSM Kenworth in Zanesville is seeking entry level and experienced diesel truck mechanics for Class 8 trucks. Responsibilities include repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of trucks. Candidates should be mechanically inclined; experienced techs need 3–5 years' experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; formal technical degree preferred.
Experienced technicians must have 3–5 years of diesel mechanic experience.
Personal tool inventory required to perform duties.
Effective written and oral communication skills are essential.
Ability to obtain a Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Ability to read and interpret repair orders, manuals, and technical bulletins.
Basic Windows computer skills assumed.
Ability to work outdoors and lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy duty vehicles.
Troubleshoots electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension systems and performs repairs.
Writes up repair orders with clear cause and repair procedures.
Reads fault descriptions and determines efficient repair procedures.
Communicates with the shop foreman and parts department to coordinate repairs.
Performs road tests to verify repairs and isolates problems.
Tracks labor hours and documents repair actions clearly.
