Job summary

Ryder is seeking a mid-level Diesel Technician in Harrisonburg, VA to perform maintenance and repair on heavy duty vehicles. The role offers hourly pay, quarterly bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.

You will work 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm on the second shift and participate in training and career development opportunities. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, some vocational training, and the ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience in mechanical repair of diesel engines.
• Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause of failures and performs repairs.
• Interacts with drivers to determine nature of complaints.
• Performs preventive maintenance and routine service.
