Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• 2+ years of related classroom training or work experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Conducts standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Performs preventive maintenance tasks.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root causes and performs repairs as needed.
• Replaces defective components and supports facility maintenance.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of a complaint.
• Follows Shop Management System and documentation processes.
• Works in compliance with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
