Job summary

Rush Truck Centers, the Rush Enterprises network, seeks a skilled Diesel Technician to service and repair heavy trucks at our Las Cruces location. The role involves diagnosing issues, overhauling engines, installing components, and ensuring safety standards are met.

You will work with OEM equipment, receive ongoing training, and enjoy a competitive starting salary with shift premiums and growth opportunities within a large nationwide network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Class 7/8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Valid driver license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines.
• ASE and OEM certifications are preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, brakes, batteries, transmissions and other parts.
• Read job orders and inspect vehicles to determine malfunctions and plan procedures.
• Inspect safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs by road testing.
• Attend training classes and stay updated with factory bulletins.
• Develop and maintain positive customer relationships to increase satisfaction.
