Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee in Columbus, OH, offering paid on‑the‑job training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician. The role provides weekly pay, medical/dental/vision after 30 days, PTO from day one, and a clear path for career advancement.

First shift hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with weekends off. No experience required; CDL-A is preferred but not required at start.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication.
• Strong customer service skills and basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop or rental shop.
• Perform multi-point inspection and report issues per policy.
• Maintain fuel island area and assist with facility maintenance.
• Complete Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
