Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a Diesel Technician Trainee. You will be paid while training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician, with a Monday–Friday schedule and first shift hours.

The role offers on-the-job training, tool/boot allowances, and a path toward full technician status. Benefits include medical, dental, vision after 30 days, PTO from day 1, 401(k) company match, and opportunities for quarterly bonuses and tuition repayment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn equipment usage.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into/out of yard, wash bay, service shop or rental shop.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues.
• Maintain fuel island area and perform light facility maintenance.
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements.
• Support service island operations and preventive maintenance tasks.
