Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines is preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn equipment and machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Professional representation of Ryder to customers and staff.
• Good time management and attendance history.
• Basic computer skills.
• Beginner knowledge of machines and tools and shop systems.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• DOT safety regulated position; safety sensitive.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into/out of yard, wash bay, or service shop and fuel vehicles.
• Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units as per policy; check tires, fluids, lights, etc.
• Maintain fuel island area and assist with shop maintenance.
• Attend Technician Training Development Program and complete required assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
