Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Clearfield, Utah, is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee. You’ll be paid during training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician, with a schedule of Tuesday–Saturday and first shift from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

No experience is required, and on-the-job paid training is provided. The role offers benefits after 30 days, potential tool reimbursement up to $1,500, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Work independently and as a team.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• DOT safety regulated position; safety sensitive.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, or service shop; fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles following safety policies; manage fuel and DEF inventories.
• Perform multi-point inspection on inbound units and report issues.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and perform minor facility maintenance.
• Complete Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments.
• Attend Training Island and Vehicle Fueling and Washing procedures and safety programs.
