Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Newburgh, NY to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles. The role offers a competitive hourly wage, weekly pay, and robust benefits with sign-on bonuses and certification incentives.

You will work the 3:30 pm–12:00 am shift, receive PPE and uniforms, and access state-of-the-art diagnostics. Training, safety, and advancement opportunities are emphasized in a supportive Ryder team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience, preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Adheres to safety, DOT, and corporate compliance guidelines.
