Job summary

Carnival Corporation & plc is seeking an experienced maintenance mechanic for Alaska operations. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing electrical, refrigeration, pneumatic, brakes, and drive trains, while coordinating technicians and maintaining logs and facilities.

You will ensure safety standards and compliance across all tasks. The position requires two years of relevant experience, CFC and brake inspector certifications, and an Alaska CDL endorsement with a valid license.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent technical training.
  • CFC and brake inspector certifications required.
  • Two years' experience in motor coach maintenance or related field.
  • Alaska driver license with CDL endorsement required; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, refrigeration, pneumatic, brakes, and drive trains.
  • Plan, coach, and supervise technicians; assign tasks and plan work.
  • Monitor shop quality and provide coaching as needed.
  • Maintain maintenance facilities and logs per company standards.
  • Apply regulations, policies, and procedures to all tasks.
  • Maintain maintenance records and perform duties assigned by supervision.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Routinely, performspreventative maintenance and safety inspections
  • Proficient in the diagnoses and repair electrical systems, refrigeration systems, pneumatic systems, brakes and drive trains.
  • Plans, coaches and facilitates skill development of technicians through task assignment and work planning.
  • Monitors shop work quality and coach technicians when needed.
  • Cleansand maintains maintenance facilities and areas according to established Company standards.
  • Appliesfederal, state, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures to all tasks.
  • Maintainsmaintenance records in the appropriate logs.
  • Performsmaintenance duties required by departmental supervision.

Requirements:

  • This job normally requires a level of experience and knowledge in motor coach maintenance equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree or some college or completion of technical training or certification and two years' experience. Directly related work experience which demonstrates technical knowledge may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • CFC and brake inspector certification is required.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising employees, seasonal and fulltime. Effective as a mentor and trainer in shop.
  • Current Alaska Driver's license with Commercial Driver's License endorsement required. (May be obtained through Company training course). Suitable driving record required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and will become a part of the random drug test pool.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiencyin the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized maintenance inventory and laptop diagnostics.
  • Ability to prioritize work, establish and meet deadlines, maintain an attention to accuracy and details while working in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and written to employees and management.
  • Proficiency in reading electric and pneumatic schematics, maintenance literature, and parts diagrams.
  • Abilityto prioritize work, meet deadlines, maintains an attention to accuracy and detail, while working in a team or group environment.

Notes:

  • While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk, climb andwork in elevated areas 20 feet off the ground, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, to use a computer to research and enter information, and to keep accurate logs of work performed.
  • The employee will frequently lift and or move up to 60 pounds and will occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; vehiclefuels and fluids, refrigerant, and maintenance cleaning solutions.
  • The work is performed in a typical maintenance shop environment during company established work hours and workdays.
  • The shift schedule may vary. Weekend, holiday and overtime work may be required according to business needs.
