Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Norton, MA for a third shift (11:00 pm – 7:30 am) with Sunday-Thursday schedule and weekly pay. The role includes opportunities for certification bonuses, quarterly bonuses, comprehensive benefits after 30 days, and generous PTO and retirement matching.

The technician will work on heavy duty vehicles with state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools. Position requires high school diploma or equivalent, basic tools, and aptitude in diesel engine repair.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Works in accordance with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
• Performs other support duties as required to support operations.
