Job summary

Ryder in South Boston, MA is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician on the second shift (2:00 pm – 10:30 pm) to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles. Earn $35.75 per hour with weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package supporting your career.

Qualifications

• Must have basic mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose standard vehicle issues.
• CDL Class A preferred; ability to obtain within 6 months if required.
• Vocational/Technical certification is a plus; high school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root causes and completes repairs.
• Interacts with drivers to determine nature of issues.
• Uses shop management system to document work.
• Adheres to safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
