Zusammenfassung

The City of Charlotte’s Fleet Management Division is seeking a CPCC student for an internship focused on diesel technician work. You will assist with routine maintenance, basic repairs, and diagnostics under experienced mentors. The role supports two shifts five days a week, with opportunities to schedule around classes.

Hourly pay is $21/hour, and interns receive uniforms and tools, and the chance to learn from skilled mentors while supporting the community.

Qualifikationen

• A desire to learn.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude to work on large equipment including solid waste trucks, fire trucks and other large equipment.

Aufgaben

• Assist experienced technicians with routine maintenance and repairs, such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and basic troubleshooting.
• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues under supervision.
• Utilize and learn to safely operate various tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with documenting work performed in a fleet management information system.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies and procedures.
