Job summary

Penske is seeking an entry level Diesel Technician/Mechanic III in McDonough, GA. You will perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and diagnostics while learning Penske’s maintenance processes and technology.

Trainings and hands-on coaching come from experienced technicians, with growth opportunities across Penske’s network. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Ability to solve problems and use tools effectively.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when needed.
• Compliance with DOT/OSHA safety and Penske safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools/tech to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventive maintenance and some electrical system work on gas and diesel engines.
• Learn new skills through Penske training and coaching with your manager.
• Support other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
