Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking a Technician in Statesville, NC to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our diverse fleet. You’ll learn Penske’s maintenance processes, use our tools, and receive hands-on coaching from experienced supervisors to grow your career.

Required: basic mechanical aptitude, 1–2 years in automotive or diesel repair, valid driver’s license, and good teamwork and communication skills. We offer training, stability and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair is preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must understand and comply with Penske safety and maintenance policies and DOT/OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire replacement/rotation and lubrication, some electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas/diesel vehicles.
• Learn new skills through technician training and hands-on coaching with your manager.
• Tackle other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
