Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Buffalo, NY is seeking an experienced Technician II. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet, and you may mentor junior technicians while advancing your own skills.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and quality. This position offers a 2pm–10:30pm shift (Sun–Thu) with a starting pay of $29.50/hr plus a $3.00 shift differential, and the chance to work with cutting-edge maintenance technology.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) is a plus.
• ASE and 608/609 certifications are preferred.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions and follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
• Doing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner
• Repairing and troubleshooting engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems components
• Keeping work area clean and safe
• Using Penske's tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics
• Learning new skills through Penske's technician training
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
