Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a skilled Technician at our Buffalo, NY location to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You’ll work with a range of equipment, logging, diagnosing, and completing repairs using Penske tools while following safety policies.

This role offers a starting wage of $25.25/hr plus a $3.00 shift differential, with opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must follow Penske safety policies and DOT/OSHA rules.
• Willingness to meet schedule, location, background checks, drug screen, and training travel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance like tire rotation and lubrication, plus some electrical and cooling system work.
• Learn new skills through training with your manager.
• Handle other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
