Qualifications

• 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Specialized training in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) and ASE/608/609 certifications preferred
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to solve problems
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Team player
• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
• Basic computer skills
• Compliance with DOT/OSHA safety policies and Penske safety standards

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
• Perform preventive maintenance on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision
• Repair and troubleshoot engines, transmissions and differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems
• Keep work area clean and safe
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training
• Work on other projects as assigned by supervisor
