Penske in Hayward, CA is seeking an experienced Technician II to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll work independently on major and minor repairs, with opportunities to mentor others and expand your skills through Penske’s training programs.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must comply with DOT, OSHA and Penske safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining vehicles to ensure safety for customers.
• Performing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision.
• Repairing and troubleshooting engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers and fuel systems.
• Keeping the work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training program.
• Working on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
