Job summary

Penske is looking for an experienced Technician to maintain and repair trucks and trailers, ensuring safety and reliability for customers. You will work on a variety of OEM equipment and mentor others while learning Penske’s advanced maintenance processes.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Experience using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools).
• Valid driver’s license required, CDL preferred.
• Ability to solve problems and provide excellent customer service and communication; works well in a team.
• Willing to travel as necessary within the district; comply with safety policies including DOT/OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs vehicles to ensure safety for customers.
• Performs preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
• Repairs major components like engines, transmissions, differentials; may replace assemblies and related parts.
• Keeps work area clean and safe; logs and researches repairs using Penske tools.
• Learns new skills through Penske technician training.
• Performs other projects as assigned by supervisor.
