Job summary

Northern Lights, Inc. is seeking an experienced Technician I in Alaska to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, generators, and related systems in shop and field settings.

You will perform advanced diagnostics, engine overhauls, and support field service across remote Alaskan locations, collaborating with customers and mentoring junior technicians. A strong safety mindset and clean diagnostic skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational diesel tech training preferred.
• Progressive experience in diesel engine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
• Experience with diesel generators, PTO systems, and electrical systems is valued.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel engines and generators.
• Perform major engine repairs, rebuilds, and overhauls per manufacturer specs.
• Travel to customer sites and remote locations for field-service assignments.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced technicians and support training initiatives.
• Document labor, parts, and repairs accurately in company systems.
