Job summary

Peterbilt of Alaska in Anchorage is seeking a Journeyman Service Technician to diagnose root causes of equipment failures, estimate repairs, and perform journeyman duties on heavy‑duty diesel engines and powertrains. The role follows a 4/10 schedule and requires field travel as needed.

You will use electronic diagnostic tools and company systems to document service reports, manage parts and work orders, and ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Mechanical knowledge
• Journeyman level technician skills.
• High level of technical trouble shooting ability with experience in aftertreatment, engine, and electrical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, estimate repairs on engines, powertrains, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and more.
• Regular travel to field equipment both in town and remote
• Produce timely and detailed service reports, accurate timekeeping and expense tracking
• Competent and thorough use of internal computer systems, including electronic diagnostic tools, parts management and work order management software
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
