Job summary

Northern Lights, Inc. in Anchorage, AK is seeking a hands-on Technician I to diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel engines, generators, and related systems in shop and field environments.

You will gain hands-on experience, work alongside experienced technicians, and expand knowledge through manufacturer training. The position may involve field service across remote Alaska locations, requires safe tool use, and a focus on quality workmanship and customer service as part of a dedicated maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical or vocational training in diesel technology or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of diesel maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and basic repairs is a plus.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and maintenance software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on diesel engines and generators.
• Inspect and service diesel systems including fuel, air, cooling, and electrical.
• Document labor, parts, and troubleshooting steps in company systems.
• Assist more experienced technicians with complex diagnostics and engine overhauls.
• Travel to customer sites and remote locations as required.
