Job summary

Republic Services in Richmond, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulic, air brake systems, engines, HVAC, suspension and drive train. You may perform basic tire work and receive training on new technologies.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with Class 1-8 vehicles or automotive college within 3 months.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair chassis components and refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Service suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Provide road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely.
