Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, air brakes, engines, HVAC, and suspensions. You will work under direct supervision and contribute to servicing one fleet with state-of-the-art vehicles.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of heavy-truck experience and ASE certifications are a plus. CDL is beneficial. Benefits include medical, retirement, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• 5-7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in multiple heavy truck systems: suspensions, steering, engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs complex repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; Air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Engine repair and diagnostics.
• Diesel fuel systems and fuel system diagnostics.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning systems diagnostics and repair.
• Aftertreatment systems, REGEN and diagnostics.
• Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication.
• Identifies sources of malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Completes applicable Company training programs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
