Job summary

The PACCAR Technical Center in Washington state is seeking a Full-time Diesel Technician to support engineering staff with all phases of heavy-duty vehicle testing in the Vehicle Operations Lab. The role is on the 1st shift, Tuesday through Saturday, and requires collaboration with engineers for testing and documentation.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in diesel systems, strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle systems.
Proficient troubleshooting skills for engines and vehicles.
Ability to exercise independent judgment to solve diverse challenges.
High attention to detail, thorough and organized.
Excellent mechanical aptitude; welding/fabrication skills are a plus.
Current CDL is a plus and can be acquired if needed.
Good computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
Strong verbal and written communication; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

Prepare heavy duty vehicles for testing, replacing components and installing instrumentation.
Work with engineering staff to ensure engines and vehicles perform as requested during testing.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair test engines and vehicles.
Maintain documentation, keep the work area clean and organized.
Stay current with new technologies relevant to testing.
Perform duties safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Adapt to shifting time and project demands with flexibility and initiative.
