Job summary

The PACCAR Technical Center in Washington state seeks an Electronics Technician to plan, design, build, and install electrical/electronic testing solutions for internal customers. You will support testing equipment used on heavy truck electrical systems and collaborate with project engineers.

Requires 3+ years' experience, soldering for PCB prototyping, and knowledge of data acquisition. Strong organization, safety awareness, and ability to work around heavy vehicles are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of related industry experience.
  • Soldering of through hole components for PCB assembly and prototyping work.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and systems.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition and analysis systems.
  • Ability to work with schematics and manufacturers specifications.
  • Familiarity with mechanical principles and systems.
  • Direct knowledge and use of common electronic laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, data logging equipment).
  • Familiarity with hand tools and appropriate shop equipment.
  • Work around heavy duty vehicles in tight spaces.
  • Well organized and accurate with detailed work.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, build, and install customized electrical/electronic testing solutions for internal customers.
  • Support and maintain equipment used for testing including heavy truck electrical systems.
  • Work with project engineers and other technical staff to support and perform electrical/electronic testing of heavy truck components.
  • Foster good communication with peers and inform about progress, problems, or opportunities.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness, follow safety policies, and identify hazards.
