Job summary

Penske is hiring a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III (Entry Level) in Boise, ID. You will perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and diagnostics to keep the fleet safe and on the road.

You will learn Penske’s maintenance processes with strong on‑site training from master technicians. Expect varied duties, a supportive team, and clear paths for skill development and career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and outdoors.
• Must understand safety policies and DOT/OSHA rules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools to log and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance like tire rotation and lubrication.
• Learn new skills through trainer coaching and supervision.
• Handle other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
