Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Boise, ID, is seeking a Technician to perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet, helping customers keep their vehicles on the road. The position offers a steady schedule, Monday–Friday shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm, and the opportunity to work with a variety of OEM equipment.

You will learn Penske's maintenance processes from experienced supervisors, receive hands-on coaching, and benefit from industry-certified training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools; strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and outdoors; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Use Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance and some electrical system/Cooling system tasks on gas and diesel engines.
• Learn new skills with guidance from a manager and Penske's training programs.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
