Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. in Michigan is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our diverse fleet. You'll work with the latest maintenance technology and receive industry‑leading training to grow your career.

You will diagnose basic faults, rotate tires, perform lubrication, and support with safety and compliance. A valid driver's license, basic mechanical aptitude, and 1–2 years in automotive or diesel repair are preferred, with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors
• Basic computer skills
• Adherence to Penske safety policies and DOT/OSHA regulations
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential
• DOT driver qualification requirements may apply

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
• Use Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs including basic diagnostics
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication on gas and diesel engines
• Learn new skills through Penske's training and hands-on coaching
• Assist with other projects as assigned by supervisor
